Verotel Phishing Attack Warning

I received the following email from my Web billing company, Verotel, regarding "phishing attack" emails purporting to be from verotel.com. Please be careful if you receive emails such as this; simply delete them.

  Dear Verotel Merchant,

It has come to our attention that there is a phishing e-mail being sent around to our clients. PHISHING is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and/or credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication or e-mail.

The fraudulent email is received as follows but may vary in text

Subject: VEROTEL CRITICAL SECURITY UPDATE
From: VEROTEL.SUPPORT.COM
Body: DEAR VEROTEL CUSTOMER,

ACCORDING TO OUR TERMS OF SERVICE (TOS) FROM TIME TO TIME WE PERFORM ADDITIONL SECURITY CHECKS OF OUR CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS. THIS IS DONE BECAUSE WE WANT TO MAINTAIN OUR CUSTOMER SECURITY AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE. THEREFORE WE NEED YOU'R CONTROL CENTER LOGIN DETAILS TO INSTALL LATEST SECURITY PATCH FOR YOU AND FOR YOU'R SITE. PLEASE SEND US YOU'R VEROTEL ID, SECRET CODE, YOU'R SITE NAME(S), + ANY OTHER INFO THAT YOU CAN PROVIDE US (LIKE FTP OR SSH INFOS FOR YOU'R SITE(S) ). WE CLASSIFY THIS SECURITY UPDATE AS CRITICAL AND WHOULD ASK YOU TO SEND AS MUCH INFOS THAT YOU CAN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO THAT WE CAN PREVENT DATA OR MONEY LOSS FOR YOU'R SITE(S). IF WE DON'T RECEIVE YOU'R RESPONSE IN FEW DAYS WE WILL HAVE TO TEMPORALLY CLOSE YOU'R ACCOUNT AND AFTER THAT EVEN PERMANENTLY IF WE DON'T INSTALL THIS SECURITY PATCH SOON. NOTE THAT IF WE TEMPORALLY DISABLE YOUR ACCOUNT WE WILL NEED FEW WEEKS TO RE-ACTIVATE IT AGAIN, DURING THAT PERIOD YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO MAKE ANY TRANSACTIONS. If you receive an e-mail message that appears to be from Verotel, but suspect that it is not a legitimate communication, we recommend you take the following steps:

* DO NOT respond to the e-mail under any circumstances.
* Forward the e-mail in its entirety to merchantsupport.com.
* Delete the e-mail upon forwarding to Verotel.
